Chhaya’s Lamb or Mutton Chops

  • 1 kg or 2.2bs mutton or lamb chops
  • 3-4 tbsp Ginger, garlic paste
  • Cinnamon 1 stick (1″)
  • Bay leaf 3
  • Green cardamom ground 1 tsp
  • Black cardamom 4
  • Cumin 1tsp
  • Mace 1/2 tsp
  • Nutmeg  1
  • Cumin powder
  • Red chilli powder
  • Coriander powder
  • Garam masala powder
  • Ghee
  • 2 cups yoghurt

Method

  1. Fry Mace, nutmeg, cardamoms, Cinnamon, bay leaf and cumin in a little bit of oil or ghee until they splutter
  2. Add ginger garlic paste
  3. Add dry masala powders- cumin, coriander, red chili, garam masala, salt
  4. Add mutton chops and fry for about 10-12 minutes
  5. Add yoghurt and a little water
  6. Boil until the chops are nicely done
  7. Squeeze lemon juice
