Monu Mami’s mustard fish

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fish (450 gm) – Salmon, Cod, Bass, Barammundi
  • Mustard oil
  • Mustard seeds: 1 tbsp yellow, 1 tbsp black
  • Green chillies: 4
  • Yoghurt 1 tbsp
  • Salt
  • Turmeric 3/4 tsp
  • Kalonji 1/2 tsp

 

 

Method

  1. Coat the fish with turmeric powder, salt and red chin powder
  2. In a wok, add 4 tbsp mustard oil. When hot, add the fish and fry lightly until light brown. Remove and keep aisde
  3. Soak the mustard seeds with salt, green chillies and a little mustard oil.  Grind to a paste
  4. Make a paste with turmeric and salt and keep aide
  5. In the wok with oil, add kalonjig. Add salt turmeric paste. Add yoghurt and fry until oil leaves the side
  6. Add some water and now put in the fish. Boil it for a short time
  7. Now add the mustard paste and boil for 2 more minutes
