Fenugreek Chicken

1 packet chicken (approx 1.7 lbs)

1 medium sized onion chopped

3/4 cup yoghurt

2 tbsp Mustard oil

1/2 tsp Fenugreek seeds

1 tsp grated Ginger

1 tsp grated Garlic

1 tsp Turmeric

Salt to taste

4 black cloves, 2 cardamom, 1″ cinnamon,  2 bay leaves

  1. Heat 2 tbsp mustard
  2. Add 1/s tsp of fenugreek seeds, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and bay leaves
  3. When they splutter, add 3/4 tsp garlic and 3/4 tsp ginger
  4. Add the chopped onion
  5. Fry nicely; when brown add turmeric,
  6. Add yoghurt
  7. Fry until oil leaves the sides
  8. Add the chicken, salt and let it cook for 7-8 minutes
  9. Add 1.5 cups of water  and pressure cook for 5 minutes
