Aloo Tikki

  • 500g potatoes ( 2 large or 4 medium)
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp chaat masala
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp amchur
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped corriander
  • 2 chopped green chilli
  • 2 tablespoon corn or rice flour
  • 4 tablespoons bread crumbs
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • oil to fry
  1. Boil the potatoes.
  2. Cool completely and mash. Do not leave clumps of potatoes
  3. Add coriander leaves, chillies. ginger, salt, chaat masala, garam masala, amchur and mix nicely
  4. Add the rice/corn flour and the bread crumbs
  5. The mixture should be firm and not sticky.
  6. Divide into 8 balls.
  7. Flatten each ball to make a tikki
  8. Heat oil in a frying pan. When very hot, add the tikkis. Fry until brown
